The weekly perspective

One question to ask yourself

If the worst happened, would I be ok?

Journal on this - catastrophise the thing you're most worried about right now. The work, the relationship, the silly thing you said. If that thing got really bad, the worst outcome happened, what would happen? I've been catastrophising recently a lot. But not in the unhelpful thought pattern way. In the, ok but I'd be ok if that happened way, even though it would suck. It's incredibly freeing given a lot of anxiety comes from the fear of the unknown.

Something to consider

Look people in the eye. Even when their pain is overwhelming. & when you're hurting and in pain, find people who can look you in the eye - Brene Brown

As I work through some things for myself, I recognise the connection and strength I receive from those around me willing to show up in my pain, to face it dead on, look at me in the eye and be with me. Show up for people in pain and don't look away.

One thing I'd tell my younger self.

Speak life into others. Encourage their dreams, support their ideas. Point out their strengths, their talents, their potential

Imagine we did this instead of spoke of others. Imagine how you'd feel if those around you did this for you. Déjà Rae S

One thing to try this week

Stop being on call

I hate the expectation of immediate replies to non urgent requests. People sending you a message don't have the right to demand an immediate response when they choose to enter your life in that moment. Notice how much of your days and nights you're 'on call' - with emails, WhatsApps, your phone, to other people. Find some time you can turn off, stop being on call for 10 minutes each day.

A few things to tell you...

Triple whammy on the ETPHD pod this week. 3 Q&A podcasts AND a dieters guide to christmas - get them here

Fasting & cheese - a dream combo on EIQ this week

There will be no more Binge Breakthrough courses until January 2025 (when I told you this before the last intake you probably thought it was sales tekkers but alas, I don't do that, honesty only from me) - every intake we've done has sold out, I expect new year new me to be no different. So join the priority list if you struggle with binge eating and you're looking for an 8 week course to help you overcome it.

One more thing...

Please share your favourite stuff.

Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. f there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
