The weekly perspective
One question to ask yourself
If this is falling apart, what might it be making space for?
Journal on this - as my beautiful friend Lucy Lord repeated to me on a fellow podcast voice note, things must fall apart for new beauty to grow (or something along those lines). If something is breaking for you right now, or even, you are choosing to break it, I wonder - what might come next?
Something to consider
Your obsession with the why is an avoidance of what is
As in, your obsession with trying to figure out why people are doing things, why things are like this is because you're avoiding what's actually happening. You wish it would be different. It's a maladaptive coping mechanism. I always thing, if you can't change someones mind, if the answer to your question doesn't change anything, don't say it, don't ask it
One thing I'd tell my younger self.
The decisions that require courage are the very decisions that will lead you toward true fulfilment
Me over here, making hard decisions, wondering who the heck I am to be doing that. Me over here, reminding myself, and now you, of this
One thing to try this week
Make the harder choice
Maybe it's saying no to cake, or yes to cake. Saying no to the easy way out. Saying yes to the terrifying opportunity. Maybe it's simply going out in the cold night to meet an old friend instead of staying in with your usual food and your usual pjs and your usual binge watching (these are of course, beautiful things to do too). I just wonder where these choices might lead
A few things to tell you...
Feeling stuck? With your health, your work, your relationship? We covered a lot of this in this weeks pod
Em is so great at mindsets of fat loss - listen to her talk about them on the EIQ pod here
You'll see a few extra emails from me this week - ETPHD are giving out so much free value this Christmas, starting with another incredible webinar from Katie this week, and an entire free month of ETPHD support in December. Don't dick about - read the emails, take the action
One more thing...
Please share your favourite stuff.
Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. f there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
