One question to ask yourself

Where is the gap between who the world thinks you are and who you know you are?

Journal on this - consider the people you love most and/or spend the most time around - how much of your true self do they see and know? Our mental health suffers incredibly when our true self differs from the version of ourselves we show others.  Our connection and sense of belonging depends greatly on our ability to be seen and connected on the truest of levels.

Something to consider

People don't know what you want. It's your job to make it clear.

I'm not saying it's easy. But neither is the resentment of unarticulated needs and boundaries. Resentment used to be one of my least favourite feelings (and one I least enjoyed admitting), but now I (try to) use it as a flashlight towards something I haven't voiced. And then voice it.

One thing I'd tell my younger self.

Don't rush through the experiences and circumstances that have the most capacity to transform you

Pema Chödren writes so eloquently on the power of our hardest times to break us open and allow us to rise from them. In the moment though, we can't help but ask, when will this be over? When will things change? Where you feel able, sit in these experiences and open your heart - give them the potential to be your teacher.

One thing to try this week

Adopt the 10 minute rule

When you find yourself drawn to checking your phone as a pacification device when looking for a distraction, bored, or unable to find something else to do, know it's fine to give in, but your goal is to wait 10 minutes. Checking your phone may well be that, or proxy for mindless eating, scrolling, or some other habit you don't love right now.

A few things to tell you...

One more thing...

Please share your favourite stuff.

Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. f there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
