One question to ask yourself

What would the best mum in the world tell you in this moment?

Parenting yourself is a core facet in developing self-compassion, which is logical, when the 'best' parents in the world support their kids with a fine amalgamation of accountability and kindness. Use this as a journaling prompt this week in your sticking points and your uncertainties.

Something to consider

"We know that we are at our best when we are able to unself, when we're able to get out of our own reflection, our own self-awareness, our own self-consciousness enough to be part of some other kind of flow of life, humanity, creativity, beauty, solidarity," - Naomi Klein

in more recent years, I've realised this trend towards self-obsession, under the guise of self-development. Of course by nature of the work we do at ETPHD and in my meditation teachings, I recognise the importance of developing self-awareness and understanding of our patterns. But in alignment with these words from Naomi Klein, I truly believe we are our best selves and offer most to humanity when we're connected with others and outside of our own heads. How often do you spend outside of your own head?

One thing I'd tell my younger self.

"Argue for your limitations and you get to keep them"

Journal on this - how often are you convincing yourself or rationalising to yourself the reasons for your actions and behaviours? How many times do you repeat to others, "I'm just bad at...", "I'm just not good at...". Imagine what would happen if you repeated that to a 10 year old.

One thing to try this week

One more thing...

Please share your favourite stuff.

Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. f there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
