The weekly perspective
One question to ask yourself
Can chatGPT help?
A talk with my friends last week highlighted just how helpful AI can be with mental load of life - they've been using it for planning holidays, asking for nursery advice and recipes. I recommend it to the coaches I mentor for loads, from helping with names of programmes to checking with grammar. Honestly, if there's something you're stuck with, can chat GPT help?
Something to consider
"The truest, most beautiful life never promises to be an easy one. We need to let go of the lie that it's supposed to be" - Glennon Doyle
I remember someone one asked me (Instagram ok, instagram asked me), who told you it was meant to be easy? I really think a lot of our pain comes from the frustration or annoyance that things weren't meant to feel this hard in the first place. Easy to say, not so easy to accept (such is the nature of acceptance).
One thing I'd tell my younger self.
Boredom is serenity unappreciated
I lean on this when I'm 18 rounds of 'the wheels on the bus' deep. I used to lean on this when I spent a Sunday afternoon 'rotting'. I actually used to love being bored, found it so calming, connecting with myself. We don't often allow it, because when we make space for boredom we make space for feelings (or feel guilt for not filling every second with something productive or quantifiable). But gosh, those little moments Im given to be bored now, I cherish.
One thing to try this week
Each day, write down
1 big task (your main priority)
3 medium tasks (important but less demanding)
5 small tasks (quick wins)
Look at me giving out productivity advice but honestly ask me for productivity and I'll show you a single mother. I've been doing this exact thing recently and I find it so helpful in not only getting things done, but getting the real important stuff handled and going to bed feeling at least somewhat accomplished (mindful, compassionate, aware or not, we all like to go to bed feeling accomplished). You can change the numbers on this list if that feels better for you - let's not overpromise and underdeliver to ourselves.

One more thing...
Please share your favourite stuff.
Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. If there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
