What are you constantly avoiding?

Journal on this - what do you know to do, but you're avoiding? Maybe a new habit, a conversation, a piece of work. Annoyingly, the thing we avoid most is usually the thing that we really need to do (and creates the biggest relief and renewal of energy)

Most of the time, the only things you lose are what was built for a person you no longer are


There's no denying things are changing in my life right now and as I was journaling and leaning on my best self-development knowledge pulled from various books and podcasts this was a sentiment I needed and usually something I need, you benefit from too. Clinging on to a life we've outgrown stifles a life waiting to be lived, even if we believe we still want it. 

Journal on this - what's changing for you? What are you feeling fearful of changing or losing? How is that manifesting for you? Are you feeling anxious? Fearful? Uncertain? How would it feel to consider that those things that are changing are doing so as a result of your changing?  Of your growth?

One thing I'd tell my younger self.


Accept that when you start something new (a habit, business endeavour, way of doing things), you will be bad at it

Journal on this - are you feeling frustrated or self-critical when trying out something new? Are you impatient that it's not working? That you're not great at it yet? Lean into it - it's an inevitable part of doing something new - sorry friend

Do the thing you're avoiding


You didn't think I'd ask you to name it and not actually take action on it, did you? Self-awareness without action is a pretty pointless endeavour. It serves to tick a box that we're 'doing the work' without actually taking action to change. Do the thing you're avoiding (before next Monday's email comes around)
