The weekly perspective
One question to ask yourself
"What one small change can I make today, and continue every day, that will improve how I think, act or feel?"
Often, we put off changes in our lives until we have a deadline, or we’re ready to completely overhaul that part of our lives. But when we do this, we are wasting each precious day to get a head start.
I recommend you journal on this, then make set a measurable goal with a deadline. Be specific.
One thing I'd tell my younger self
Let go of the fantasy you've created in your head and accept the reality of what is. Stop sticking with relationships, people, jobs and situations for their potential.
When people show you who they are, believe them the first time. You'll save yourself a lot of time, energy and frustration.
Something to consider
We think there are so few opportunities to us as women that it’s ok to have role models but ultimately, we’ll have to destroy them for us to be more successful. But every time a woman is successful, it opens the door for another woman to be successful.
Stop comparing yourself to others and start recognising how we can progress together as a collective.
One thing to try this week
Start saying thank you whenever you wake up in the morning. Thanks to the universe for allowing you to live another day. Despite whatever that day will throw at us, thank the universe for allowing us to be here. I started doing this 5 years ago when I heard Oprah talk about it and it made my morning’s infinitely lighter. Notice if it changes your day.
I recommend you do this in your head if you're dating someone new...
