The weekly perspective

One question to ask yourself

Does it really matter?

My perspective changed in 2020 as a result of some life goings on for me. It flipped entirely on its head. I discovered a thing called sober joy. A deep sense of gratitude and joy in response to a hard reality. I started to care a lot less about trivial things, and a lot more about those things that will still matter when I'm 90. Despite life being harder, it got more peaceful, too.

Something to consider

Maybe you feel burnt out because of a lack of focus, not because of an overload of work.

It's easier to sit with a narrative of 'I'm doing too much' than it is to accept we're not doing things well enough. it's funny the narratives we align with ourselves, the ones we make fit. I often thing of this self help stuff and realise that really, no one is here to tell us we're wrong. We decide our issues, we find evidence to support them, we jump into a pre made box. Maybe you are overloaded. Or maybe you're struggling with the stories you tell yourself

One thing I'd tell my younger self.

Don't think of the relationship as over, think of it as complete

I'm not mid break up but I stand as a firm believer in the camp of every relationship having its place, at the right time, for as long as it's meant. Nothing is a failure. Every red flag brought me the best person in my life this summer. Every relationship needed to end for it to be so.

One thing to try this week

When motivation is low for a task you're putting off, commit to doing it for 5 minutes.

This give your brain an easy win & builds motivation over time. Identify the task. Commit to 5 minutes.

A few things to tell you...

There will be no more Binge Breakthrough courses until January 2025 (when I told you this before the last intake you probably thought it was sales tekkers but alas, I don't do that, honesty only from me) - every intake we've done has sold out, I expect new year new me to be no different. So join the priority list if you struggle with binge eating and you're looking for an 8 week course to help you overcome it.

One more thing...

Please share your favourite stuff.

Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. f there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
