The weekly perspective

One question to ask yourself

What opportunity do I have right now that I might not have again?

Helpful if you're someone with regrets, with fear of taking action, who are indecisive. How would it feel to never have that opportunity again? Does that change your decision right now?

Something to consider

The best way to gauge others' values isn't to ask them directly. It's to find out who they respect - Adam Grant

We speak to a lot of people at ETPHD who are trying to build new connections or navigate currently hard relationships. One thing that I think is so important to successful relationships is having some shared values. It's actually one reason I struggle to respect some people in my industry or similar, who've done some shady things and are super successful. Gross values and yet respected by some. Anyway, consider this in those around you, or those you hope to have around you more...

One thing I'd tell my younger self.

You deserve to be loved and chosen - not almost loved & almost chosen

Sure by others. But by yourself, too

One thing to try this week

Replace reflection & self-awareness with action (prolonging these things is just glamouring procrastination)

I see this a LOT in the relationship with food space, and the mentoring space in fact. Because the world we live in glamourises self awareness, like it's this ever lasting 'thing' we need to focus on. It becomes insular and self involved quite quickly, a tick box to convince ourselves we're taking action and more so, self destructive if you're not taking action to change anything..

One more thing...

Please share your favourite stuff.

Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. f there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
