The weekly perspective

One question to ask yourself

Is your goal (or current) body weight sustainable?

If you're preoccupied by food, stressed about steps, avoiding foods, in a constant battle to achieve it - what makes you think that's an enjoyable place to be?

Something to consider

We have a knack for taking stress & multiplying it without realising it

Journal on this - what stress is caused by your reality? What's caused by the thoughts in your head...? What would it look like to challenge those thoughts?

One thing I'd tell my younger self.

When you hold a secret, it confirms to you that it's bad

I kept my binge eating secret for over a decade. It only added to the shame. and confirmed it was the worst thing in the world. What secrets are you holding? Is there anyone offering an empathetic and compassionate space that you trust? How would it feel to share that?

One thing to try this week

Give meaningful compliments

Inspired today by a reminder from Kate Winslet (yes we're personal friends). Compliment how someone sees the world, how they leave you feeling, how they inspire you. Not their weight, Selfishly, watch how it transforms your day.

A few things to tell you...

There are some incredible podcasts from the ETPHD coaches for you (I've learned from them so I guarantee you will):

The truth behind dopamine detoxing

How to take a multi-disciplinary approach to eating disorder recovery

ADHD & emotional dysregulation

Menopause, movement & mind

Is your body weight sustainable? Figure it out with this podcast

Em spoke about ultra processed foods & regulating hormones on EIQ this week

I recorded a free meditation specifically to support your body image. It was part of the live ETPHD community class - get it here

One more thing...

Please share your favourite stuff.

Thank you all for continuing to share your favourite Monday email quotes. I see them all. I know how much I love seeing impactful quotes from strangers, so it means a lot that you allow me to hopefully be that person for someone else. f there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
