The weekly perspective
One question to ask yourself
What are you avoiding?
Journal on this - because it seems simple, but I promise you, whatever you are avoiding, and why that may be, is where it's most important to lean your energy into for the coming weeks.
Something to consider
Some changes look negative on the surface but you will soon realise that space is being created in your life for something new to emerge.
Journal on this - where have you attached a sense of negativity to parts of your life? I wonder, are you in a space where you can be open to the possibility that these changes are offering up a chance of something wonderful?
One thing I'd tell my younger self.
It’s better to risk disappointment than it is to live disappointed
As you refelct on 2023 and consider what 2024 may bring for you, and indeed, what you may seek to cultivate, consider how often you avoid taking risks and taking chances for fear or being disappointment (or disappointing someone else). The alternative is living in a state of disappointment - is that really what you choose?
One thing to try this week
Allow your external world to show up as it does, with no attempt to control or change it. Instead, bring attention to how you respond.
You can’t always control what happens. But you can control how you react to it. Once you recognise this as a fact of life, you learn to focus your energy in a way that brings more peace, not more frustration.
A few things to tell you...
Considering jumping on the ice bath hype? Maybe you already do but don't know quite why you're freezing your nips off every morning? Listen to this.
Struggle with PMS like I do? Here's a 30 minute guide to managing it, from supplements to mindset.
Want to hear about the time I was crying into my keyboard whilst working? Of course you do, so listen to this.
Have you tried the ugliest fruit alive? Do your clients binge eat when stressed? Or maybe you they live with diabetes? Listen to this.
One more thing...
Please share your favourite stuff.
I'm really trying to have a more positive impact this year (it's where this Monday email spawned from). If there's something you really relate to or know someone who'd benefit from something in this email, please share it and pay it forward. Words are magical, and if I've learned anything from writing these emails to you for years, you never know when someone needs to hear the exact thing you've got to say.
